Jacq's Instagramming #21

Yes I know.  It has been a while since somebody posted in this blog.  I am just here to share my life story through instagram pictures and to tell anybody, if there's any, who reads this, that, somehow, I still want to keep this place alive, despite we're too busy 'living' our lives!

1.  Ocean Park promotion, putting ice penguin out to display in the Sun and melt. / 2.  Learning from the Observatory website. / 3.  FOTD of a certain day. / 4,5,7. What I Got for Christmas | Non-Beauty Gifts

It has become an annual tradition for me to share my Christmas gifts on this blog.  Last year's post (link) is still fresh in my mind.  How swift time pasts!?  As usual, my family and friends aren't particularly keen on giving gifts, we tend to share the happy moments together doing fun, sometimes silly, things.

Anyway, the lovely Holy Family clay decor was from C, a church friend of mine.  It is from Pakistan, which is rare itself, but it also has special meaning to me.  When I was a baby, I am baptised in the Christian name Marie, i.e. Mary in French.  When my fiance was baptised last year, he was baptised in the name Joseph.  Got the picture?

I got a shirt and Japanese Sumo Wrestler magnet from one of my god-sisters.  Glass necklace and Rilakumma earphone accessory are from family friends.  The tiny Praying Monk Statue is interesting, a Catholic nun, Sister Joanna brought this back from Mainland China.  I find this a very sweet reminder to keep praying.  Every now and then, I have thoughts about my Chinese heritage, the fact that I'm a descendant of the Dragon race, the yellow skin I'm in, and the fact that I read and speak Chinese (both in the Cantonese and Mandarin/Putonhua dialects); on the other hand, the fact that I was raised in a British Colony for a good few years, and that I am greatly influenced by the Western culture, especially the fact that I'm a Roman Catholic, views and values are very much driven by my faith, more than anything else.  Perhaps there is something out there for me, persoanlly?  Or perhaps, there is something inside me for me to find out?  Hmm... To conclude, I'm loving Sis. Joanna's little monk-y note.

If you fancy knowing what beauty gifts I got, head over to my beauty blog for more (link).  Wishing you a lovely start of the new year!  Once again, thanks for reading.  :)

Season's Greetings \*0*/

Hope you gals/guys are having a great Christmas!!
After all, we all 'survive' from the 'End of the World' LOL
I am doing Christmas nails right after my finals :P
So, I have already did a few~
Some on my nails and some on Jacq's :D

Christmas Tree and Glitter

First, I started with the base coat then with my chosen colours (white, gold and green).
For my left hand's thumb, I used the dotting tool to dot different greens and yellow to shape a triangle out.  I would like to create a Christmas tree.  So, I used red to dot a tree top for it. :P
I think it's cute for a tree to be dotted out XD
For my left hand's middle finger, I just used some greens and yellow to dot on the white nail to make it more colourful and match with the rest of my fingers.  It's easy and I think it looks quite good to me. :))
For the rest of the glitter nails, I was too lazy to do anything special to them.  So, I just used two different glitter polish to paint on the base colours.  Glitters always help to create the Christmas feeling on the nails. :DD

Polishes used (from left to right)
#Base Colours
**YMCK, Somewhere In Time
**China Glaze, 5 Golden Rings
**China Glaze, Outta Bounds

Polishes used (from left to right)
#Detail Designs
**Dobest, No.02
**China Glaze, Electrify
**Deborah Lippmann, Happy Birthday
**YMCK, Mosaic Green
**OPI, Comet Loves Cupid
**Ciate, Mojiton

Red and White Christmas Nails

This time I chose the 'Comet loves Cupid' polish (OPI) as my base colour.  I think this red is very Christmas to me. ;D
As I am not professional, all the designs made are easy.
For the thumb of my left hand, I used a nailart brush to paint some white lines on the nails.
For the pointer of my left hand, it looks weird. LOL
Some cotton accidentally got stuck on my half-dried red nail, hence I stuck cotton all over the nail to create the Santa's beard texture. XDD  It doesn't look good but it was fun to play with the nail. XP
For my ring finger of my left hand, I used the dotting tool to dot some white dots at the tip of the nail~ :)
For my little finger of my left hand, I used the nailart brush to paint a white border for it :P
For my right hand, I used the nailart brush to draw a ribbon on my pointer.
The Snowman is cute, isn't he? It's really easy to do it!!!! ;D
First, I used the nailart brush to draw the outline for the two circles, then use the polish brush to fill in the colours.
Then, I used the nailart brush to draw the eyes, nose, scarf and buttons for him.
Lastly, I sealed up my design with a top coat :P (except the cotton nail LOL)

Polishes used (from left to right)
**OPI, Comet Loves Cupid (Red)
**Etude House, WH702 (White)

Blue Snowy Night

These are Jacq's nails!!!! I think you can distinguish mine with hers by the shape of our nails~
Hers are round in shape and mine are a bit more 'squary' XP
She came to me and say she want some snowy nails :)
After she painted the blues she chose for the base colours, I started the drawing!! ;)
The left thumb, I used the end of the nailart brush to dot two big dots at the middle and then use the small dotting tool to dot two small dots at the side~  Then, link them together and formed a moustache ^o^ (I don't know how to explain it in more details, maybe we can snapshot how we did it next time~)
The left middle finger, I used the nailart brush to draw a big snow flake and then used dotting tool to dot some snow all over the nail.
The left ring finger, I did the same thing what I did on my red nails above~
I like the right thumb most!!!!!!! It's so cute <3  Basically, I did the same thing whenever I draw snowman. This time I used more colours for it and added an earmuff to him!!! :)
I used Konad stamps for the right ring finger, and added some glitter on the right middle finger. ;)

Polishes used (from left to right)
#Base Colours
**Illamasqua, Strike
**OPI, Ski Teal We Drop
**Revlon, Radiant
**Essie, Below the Belt

Polishes used (from left to right)
#Detail Designs
**Konad (Yellow)
**Color Combos, CBL129
**Daiso Nail Art Pen (Black)

Metallic Christmas Gradient

Well, I really love gradient nails!!! <3
It's easy to create and it's gorgeous no matter what colours you used!! >3<
This time I used the metallic colours to create the feeling of the Christmas decorations.
First, I started off with the base coat, then two coats of metallic red. :P
After the polishes are all dried, the most entertaining part came! XP
I paint the gold and silver onto the sponge and then sponge the colours onto the nails!! :)
(I see this part using the sponge to paint on the nails as fun ;P)
Sponges help to create the gradient feeling.
However, if you fail to create the gradient feeling with the sponge, you can always use the top coat to help.
Sealing up the design with top coat can help merging the colours together:)

Polishes used (from left to right)
**Orly, Rockin' Rockette
**Orly, Dazzle
**Orly, Glitz and Glamour

Hope you all like my nails for this holiday ^O^
Merry Christmas everyone ;$

Prom Nails

Well I have done this way back to July 2012~
I helped my friends and myself to paint the nails for our graduation dinner :)
We three wore different colours of dresses~
We have three different styles~
Therefore, I created three different designs :D

Yellow Prom Nails
I first painted the base coat for her~
Then with the milky yellow I chose for her :)
I used some of my fimo heart sticks, and heart stickers to decorate her cute nails :P
I have also used neon pink and orange polishes to draw some hearts on her nails using the dotting tool ^^

Pink Prom Nails
Well,this picture is a bit blurred~
I used two pinks my friend chose~
As she preferred simple nails, I just used a few fimo star sticks and used silver polish to draw some stars on her nails~
I think it matches with the dress she wore :P

Orange Prom Nails
Haha this is my turn :P
Because I have a stupid left hand, I just did some nail art on my left hand~
I used some fimo ribbon stick and used black polish to draw some ribbons and dots for my nails~
It's simple and not bad~ ;P
At least I think it matches with my outlook that night LOL

Well, it kinda turned out to be sharing the use of my fimo sticks stock LOL
Hope to see you gals/guys comment :)

Practice on Jacq

Hey there! Long time no post on the blog~
I have been a bit busy with my school work and extra curricular activities ;P

I have tried hard to continuous with the nail work :D
Here are two designs I have done on Jacq's nails^o^

Lavender Gradient
Jacq told me she likes the gradient nails too
And because it's easy to do, I have tried out many times
This time Jacq chose the colour purple~

Well, I started off with the base coat, then two coats of the lightest purple Jacq had chosen.
Next, I used the sponge to paint some medium purple on half of the nails.
After the layers are dried, I sponged the tip of the nails with the darkest purple.
Then, I painted the sponged area with the glitter.
Finally, finished off with the top coat! :)

Nail polishes used (from left to right)
**Castle Dew #9392 Lavender Garden (lightest)
**OPI Purple with a Purpose (medium)
**AC #81 (darkest)
**i. color VN12 (glitter topcoat)

Pastel Union Jack Nails

This was way back to the London Olympics~
I have been obsessed with the nail arts for national flags <3
So, I decided to draw on Jacq's nails (because mine are occupied at that time).
To try something special, I used the pastel colours instead of the blue and red on the national flag of the UK.

First, always remember to start with a base coat! ;)
Then, I painted the nails I will draw the flag on with light blue.
After that, I used a paint brush to draw a horizontal line in the middle of the nail, and followed by a vertical and two diagonal lines.
This time I chose two pastel pinks, one lighter and one darker.
Waited til the coats are completely dried, I used another paint brush to draw on the white stripes I have drawn.  To create the feeling of the UK flag, I left some gaps between the pink diagonals and the pink center.

Nail polishes used (from left to right)
**No7 Minty Fresh (blue)
**Ciate Strawberry Milkshake (pink)
**OPI B86 Shorts Story (dark pink)
**The Etude House WH702 (white)

I personally like this design very much ^3^
I will try to post more posts during my semester break :)))
Hope you like my posts :DD

P.S. I will not type Chinese for the time being because it's a bit time consuming for me to write bilingual posts as I don't know Chinese input method :P
